Regein Wellfar was a Lord of the Wellfar Family, and is Gresaria Wellfar husband and Etril Wellfar's father.

Upon the death of Gresaria, who died challenged the Assassin’s Guild in First Landing, and whose sacrifice caused the Five Family and everyone else in the city harbour to fight the [Assassins], Regein would regain enough of his confused mind to captain the Pride of the Wellfar, the greatest ship of Izril, and directly attack the Guild of Assassins' Headquarters.

The [Assassins] would target him and succeed in killing him, but by then it would be too late for them as Regein had enough time to activate and unleash the great ship's stored magic attacks to obliterate the Assassins' Headquarters and killing all the [Assassins] within it. This would include the majority, if not all, of the Assassin's Guild's remaining gold and artifacts that were stored within the headquarters.

Dead

Upon his death he would reunite with Gresaria in the Land of the Dead. The two would stay in First Landing's Sanctuary until the 6 Dead Gods assaulted it. Rather than fight a losing battle the two would leave to warn the others. They would arrive at Yderigrisel’s Sanctuary and see the ghosts pressing their regrets on Erin. They would help her out, greet her and encourage her to live on, with Regein winking at her to find an adventurous spouse like he did.

They would then procceed to pass on their news about First Landing's Sanctuary and warn them that 3 Dead Gods are coming their way. When they do arrive, which were Tamaroth, Kasigna and the Lost Thing, Kasigna would forced the ghosts to kneel at her, rooting them on the spot. Erin's deviance to them would convince the Putrid One to sacrifice himself to break Kasigna’s control on the Ghosts. Freed Regein and Gresaria would join the ranks of Ghosts who stay behind to make a stand and sacrifice themselves to slow the Dead Gods down so that Erin and the other Ghosts can flee them.

Currently it is unknown who of the present 3 Dead Gods had consumed his soul.
