Synopsis edit edit source
Seraphel is enjoying her time in Meronome, which has always been a favorite holiday destination. Still missing Culin and Sasi, she writes them a letter, while arranging a delivery of various sweets via a Courier named Tobleden the Toad. Dalimont suggests adding other mundane goods such as apples or Yellats for the people of Afiele. Tobleden agrees, declaring it a delight to meet a famous [Princess]. Seraphel realizes that he is talking about her reputation as the Cursed Princess of Calanfer, abruptly ending her good mood.
Seraphel is listless as she and her retinue walk the streets of Meronome, unhappy about her upcoming marriage, as well as her lack of levels, only being a Level [18] Princess. As such, she mostly ignores the shop attendants, who call out to her, trying to attract her attention.
Seraphel is beset by one particularly determined [Shopkeeper]. Using [Irresistible Offer], he advertises his Drathian charms, which he condescendingly claims that could end her curse. Offended, Seraphel -infamously known as “Seraphel the Sharptongued” - insults him so badly that in conjunction with her Skills, causes him to start puking.
Dalimont is slightly intimidated by Seraphel, who is quick to reassure that her “days of infamy are long gone.” Feeling better by her display, she asks the [Knight] if her fiance dislikes her, as Lord Fallien has yet to meet her, having only sent brief notes begging his absence. Dalimont truthfully speculates that Fallien most likely sees Seraphel as a means to an end, which she acknowledges to be most likely the case.
When walking past the Synphasia Theatre, Dalimont reveals that Cara O’ Sullivan had become a performer, greatly exciting Seraphel. The Thronebearer had already arranged a royal box for a performance this evening.
Seraphel goes over a dossier of Noelictus’ important people such as Prince Seratoito and Lord Seethru. Dalimont is impressed with the breadth of Seraphel’s knowledge. The [Princess] has always been well-versed with contracts and diplomacy. She once gained the [Negotiator] class, but it was removed by her parents. She also reviews information about her sister Lyonette’s disappearance, to which Seraphel concludes that Lyonette is on Izril. The [Princess] muses that they may soon receive word from one of the Five Families, begging to take Lyonette back.
