Chapter 9.22 GN is the 30th chapter of Volume 9. The G stands for Geneva Scala, and the N stands for Niers Astoragon.

- Geneva learns about Galas Muscle and finds that the Wasting doesn't happen in the Dyed Lands or Rhir.
- Niers hatches a plan to find Geneva and retrieve her before the fall of the Minacien Wall.
Synopsis[edit | edit source]
The chapter catches up with Geneva Scala and her life in servitude to The Minds. She has continued to do research on the Wasting and grown her powers as a [Telepath] and [Doctor]. During her research, she looked at Galas Muscle up close and found it to have larger and slightly different nuclei at the cellular level. It also rots slower and is much harder to cut than normal muscle.
Meanwhile, Niers had promised Erin that he would rescue Geneva, so he began his plan to do just that. He sent a threatening message through one of the Selphids in his company to request the return of Geneva. The Minds debated this, but ultimately decided to delay their response which was what Niers expected. He triangulated a wide area in which The Minds could be and used Erin's chess tournament to get some of his fellow Fraerlings to hack into scrying orbs in that area in hopes of finding some of the Bodies of Fellden that were protecting The Minds. He found the most likely area, and prepared to send golems out to retrieve Geneva and stop the fall of the Minacien Wall.
Back at the Gathering Citadel where Geneva was captured, she did not only have findings in terms of Galas Muscles. She also did help to find a hint about The Wasting. The Third Mind came to the conclusion through rigorous testing that The Wasting was not due to an attack by any species, but they did not have sufficient record keeping and data analysis of wasting occurrences. Geneva got The Minds to procure this for her, and she found that there were two places relatively free of wasting: Rhir and The Dyed Lands. Finally, she came to the conclusion with the help of The Second Mind that she did not feel that her mind had been tampered with, but some of her memories had clearly been altered since she did not remember the death of her own father.
