Interlude – The Spitoon is the 59th chapter of Volume 9.

- After the battle The Grand Design cannot find the souls of the dead and has a brief struggle with Kasigna over them.
- Kasigna has taken the place of the Lands of the Dead and is slowly redesigning things. It is implied that the gods are separate from the Grand Design.
