tl;dr[edit | edit source]

Griffon Hunt reveals their negative past. Bird is retrieved from the dungeon by the adventurers.

Synopsis[edit | edit source]

Yvlon wakes the next morning, magically bound to her bed. She cannot break the bonds, and neither can Ksmvr. Breaking the bed proves fruitless as well. They get bleary-eyed Pisces, who helps break the bonds. In the common room the other silver-ranked adventurers initially try to stop the Horns on orders from the gold-ranks, but quickly change their mind, for the most part. When the more serious teams try to keep the Horns more earnestly, Pisces summons his Bone Horror. The adventurers quickly make way and partially join the Horns on their track to the dungeon.

In the dungeon the various gold-rank teams are assailed on all fronts, but do make slow progress. Jelaqua almost gets roasted by a Raskghar trap as she follows the Raskghar that had abducted Ceria, but survives. Moore gets wounded. The Halfseekers and Silver Swords team up. Griffon Hunt makes the most progress, but everyone gets progressively more exhausted. By now the seven silver-ranked teams, who took off on their own with the Horns, are in the dungeon as well, close to Griffon Hunt. The other gold-ranks consolidate forces to retrieve the two groups from deep in the dungeon. After they catch up, it takes some convincing, but Halrac finally gives in. They divert towards the silver-ranks' position. It is revealed that Griffon Hunt employs plague and poison to deal with this dungeon, a tactic they only seldomly use nowadays after inflicting heavy collatoral damage during a severe griffin infestation three years ago. Once the Horns and other silver-ranks are picked up, the teams intend to collectively retreat, but Halrac wants to push on. It is then they discover Bird, half-buried beneath a dead Face-Eater Moth and deeply in pain. The Antinium admits to looking for Mrsha to make amends. Hearing that, Halrac is ready to retreat as well, further underscored by the horde of dead Antinium Soldiers Bird is pointing out.

Calruz is revelling in the victory he orchestrated, confident that he will wrest treasure from the dungeon and conquer its heart. He plans to move the Raskghar camp come nightfall. Ceria is doubtful of his plans, considering the female and other Raskghar eying Calruz.

The hobs enter the dungeon.
