Huntsong Chapter 3 — Digneral is the 3rd chapter of Huntsong.
tl;dr
Synopsis
Baron Digneral du Ecte of Ailendamus is reviewing a recording of Princess Seraphel leaving Afiele, sent by his spies. He is revealed to be the mastermind behind hiring Feren the [Necromancer] to kill the local nobility of Afiele and overrun it with undead as a distraction for Noelictus’s rulers. Digeneral is interrupted by his brother, Lord Regalius, with whom he has a strained relationship, due to a past disgrace by Regalius that brought shame to House Ecte. Digneral enrolled in the army and worked his way up, while Regalius found his calling as the [Lord of Ceremonies] in the capital of Ailendamus
Digneral meets with Regalius’s wife, Yietha while she’s knitting a sweater for one of her many cats. He reflects on the circumstances of House Ecte’s disgrace, caused by Regalius eloping with a farmer’s daughter, breaking his arranged marriage between him and Princess Seraphel, along with the budding alliance between Ailendamus and Calenfer. The farmer’s daughter ended up dying from an unrelated accident, but the damage was done. Digeneral swore to make up for the disgrace, and for six years, the Level 48 [Baron of the Mirror Lands] has been skirmishing with the region of Ovela with aspirations to conquer Noelictus for Ailendamus.
