The Night of Bloodtear

From The Wandering Inn Wiki
(Redirected from Night of Bloodtear)

The Night of Bloodtear happened right after the Winter Solstice, 23 A.F.

Background (Pt.1) edit edit source

After the great battle against Kasigna was over, Erin Solstice went to sleep. As her levels began to appear, the System shouted in her head to wake up. Roshal's people had come to enslave her. After a few fights between Roshalians and the people Erin Solstice had summoned to fight Kasigna, Iertalinam was able to teleport to The Naga's Den with Erin, Ulvama and Halrac's arrow in tow.

Enchained, Erin spoke to the five Slave Lords of Roshal. They offered her a few things in return for her joining them. Erin refused. Erin was then brought belowdecks along with the other slaves.

Yazdil offers her a secret magical contract. Then Lord Pazeral takes away that contract and offers his own. Erin does not sign. Instead she talk to the other slaves and says there is a chance she can free them.

The slaves give up some blood, huddling around her to hide her, and Erin dances an Infernal Dance of the Lucifen. The dance brings Erin to a secret pocket dimension of the Lucifen where she negotiates a part of her soul in exchange for their help in bringing Ulvama and whoever else she deems fit to freedom, and protect them. Visophecin agrees. The Lucifen appear, free Erin, the other slaves, and start sailing the ship to Izril.

Erin feels Rabbiteater with the power of her [Innkeeper] Class and tells the Lucifen to bring her there. They attempt to refuse but must fulfill her wishes; Erin has deemed Rabbiteater fit for protection, and the Lucifen are still under contract. They start heading to Rabbiteater. Ulvama sends up a magic flare; the Goblin word Naefoma, meaning help.

Background (Pt.2) edit edit source

The Terandrian colonization fleet are set upon by Bloodtear Pirates and Alchemist Irurx.

For some days, the colonization fleet is harried by the entirety of Bloodtear; all sixty-four ships and two [Pirate Admirals] joining in on the naval battle, and Shifthold; a Level 60 + alchemist and his insectile crew, who hate all half-Elves.

This is mainly because of a few factors,

  • Irurx has paid Bloodtear with a huge amount of healing potions; allowing them to fight with less risk of permanent damage or death than the Terandrians.
  • The Bloodtear Pirates have an extremely powerful Combination Poem Skill: [We Sailed Under Flags of No Quarter]. [A Storm at Our Backs]. [We Took No Prisoner]. [Blood in the Waters, Blood in the Sky].
  • All the other naval superpowers either cannot or will not help the Terandrians.

In these few days, a third of the Terandrian fleet-40 ships-is lost.

History edit edit source

With the help of the Lucifen (unwillingly), Ulvama, Admiral Dakelos, and the Horns of Hammerad, Erin attacked several Bloodtear ships, personally killing Captain Jiupe, while fending off several of Roshal's ships seeking to capture or kill the [Innkeeper]. Several of Erin's guests, including Ryoka, Nerry, Seve-Alrelious, Revi, Embraim, Rivel, and Teriarch arrived to help the [Innkeeper]. While the Iron Vanguard initially stayed neutral, they along with Wistram began attacking the Bloodtear Pirates after emboldened by Rabbiteater calling them cowards. A Kraken also showed up attacking everyone, incited by Belavierr the Stitch Witch.

Answering Ulvama's signal for help, Greydath swam in and started fighting the Bloodtears. However, alerted to the arrival of the Goblin Lord, the Terandrians, Iron Vanguard, and the Bloodtear Pirates started attacking him. When Erin called to Greydath to help her save Rabbiteater, she unwittingly made herself and her ship a target for everyone. Lord Firrus called for a bombardment to kill the Goblin Lord, ignoring everyone else on Erin's ship. Archmage Verdan was able to shield everyone, but was killed in the process, causing the Iron Vanguard to turn on the Terandrian Fleet. At one point, Iradoren tried to reveal Rabbiteater's identity and kill him, hoping to spin the tragedy of the debacle on the Goblin [Knight]. However, Erin killed the [Prince], then killed Admiral Rosech.

The sea battle would afterwards be called the Night of Bloodtear.
