Chapter 5.45 is the 49th chapter of Volume 5, and the 1st chapter of Book 9, Tears of Liscor.

Aftermath of the rescue mission: Parade. Erin prepares for a game of baseball.
Synopsis[edit | edit source]
Aftermath of the Gnoll rescue. Drassi wakes various gnolls in Liscor to inform them of the successful attack on the Raskghar and rescue of the previously captured gnolls, even before the Council was able to announce it, not unintentionally counterbalancing the resulting official narrative. The same day a parade is held, celebrating the various parties, such as adventurers, army, and Watch, participating in the rescue. Some of them are missing, still recovering from the ordeal. The goblins' contribution is acknowledged as well, albeit quietly.
Erin leads Mrsha and Lyon to a gnollish toy store to replace her old ball, that had gone missing. She gets an idea for a new group activity and immediately jumps into action, buying material for it from the shopkeeper and a carpenter. Mrsha doesn't get a new ball, starting to cry as Erin departed on her whim, but did find her ball at the inn. Lyon is disappointed with Erin and is unwilling to entertain her newest idea, in particular since Mrsha still needs to recover, both phyiscally and mentally. She tries her aura to get Erin to fold, but isn't successful; instead Erin implores her to trust her, that this outing will be quite different from the toy shop.
The outing itself is to take place in Celum, with the magical door's counterpart at Octavia's shop needing to be moved first; the alchemist is quite distraught at that proposition. Erin gets the Halfseekers to help her, and invites the Horns of Hammerad to join them. The outing Erin has planned: a game of baseball in the sunny meadows of Celum, far from the grey, cloud-covered skies of Liscor.
