Synopsis[edit | edit source]

The first perspective is that of Calidus Reinhart, a [Hedonist] who detests work. Though he hates putting in effort, he is smart, and so when Regis Reinhart sent the remnants of Izril's Assassin’s Guild to settle on Calidus' property, he realized that he would have to party less and think more in the future. The assassins were a risk, but they also presented him an opportunity particularly towards Izril's new lands. Calidus learned that Magnolia had made no effort to profit off of the new lands, so he would have to make his own plans. This may be difficult as all of his employees are purposefully newer with only his [Chef], Ingon, and a [Genius Polymath], Zeom being employees of any worth to Calidus.

Other groups were also interested in the new lands. Gaoelos was one captain in charge of escorting a group of Half-Elves to Izril's new lands. The half-elves were one group that were uncharacteristically quick to take the opportunity of traveling to the new lands of Izril. This group of half-elves came upon another half-elven ship staying still in the water. As they approached, they began to realize that something was wrong. The ship had too few crew members, and the crew and captain themselves were strange as well. Gaoelos started to bring his ship around as the truth dawned on him that this half-elven ship was not stuck, but it was a trap. His escorted ship, Watery Roots also began to realize the danger, but they were too late. The stuck ship was manned by Irurx who was there to destroy any half-elven ships that he could find. He attacked Watery Roots and it was lost behind Gaoelos. The alchemist's ship then turned its attention to its other victim and Gaoelos realized that he could not outrun or outgun it. He contacted nearby naval powers, but they were not close enough, so he sent his passengers out to scatter onto Izril and kept a skeleton crew of [Storm Sailors] to try and ram Shifthold. Once they had put their plan into place, an issue arose. A small craft was sailing towards the danger. This craft was manned by antinium including Anand and their drowned folk instructor, Torthe. They alone proved no threat, but Wrymvr who came to interfere certainly did. He attacked Irurx and gave Gaoelos and the Waterlily time to turn back around. Irurx fled and the crew that had landed were given the chance to come back to the Waterlily and leave. Wrymvr informed Anand that he did this to cause discord between the half-elven settlers and the drakes that were sure to dislike the elven presence.

Besides these groups, many had designs on new locations and new lands not just Izril's new lands. Hecrelunn left Khelt in his grief to found a new, better version by taking over a city-state on eastern Chandrar that he would name New Khelt. The demons of Rhir settled in the new lands of Izril and elsewhere on Chandrar where they hoped to escape from the watchfulness of the Blighted Kingdom by using the chaos of the land rush. Freed Djinni that did not want to fight the demons' eternal war also settled nearby on Izril's new lands. Even the Sariant Lambs had designs in play. They utilized a complicated network of contact and subterfuge to try and bring forth the option of Ryoka Griffin as an ally for their species to any clusters of Sariant Lambs they could contact. Finally, Tolveilouka, who had lost more than he looked to gain, wanted to inflict pain on the adventurers that had disturbed his master. He took control of a large group of monsters from the High Passes and sent them down towards Izril's south where he could test the adventurers.
