Synopsis edit edit source
Barnethei, from a raggedy fourteen year old boy with no prospects to a level 42 [Vice Innkeeper] that catered numerous Nobility and Named-Ranked Adventurers with his own inn soon to come, values hard work which makes him hate The Wandering Inn and its [Innkeeper] for supposedly passing his level in two years. Barnethei has a plan with the rising of the New Lands of Izril, to first have his own inn to be the very best it could be so it could become the major crossroads of traffic and expand to monopolize the region.
Larracel is in The Adventurer’s Haven as it travels southbound in Drake lands, annoyed by the rain the [Wizard] shoots a few spells into the sky to cut a clear path. She grouses about not acquiring Mrsha's luck powers and how they should've aimed their focus on her and her mother rather than Ishkr espousing on how a lot of things boil down to luck to the disagreement of Barnethei. Larracel leaves not wanting to talk about her friends out in the world adventuring, the rest of the Haven's resident arrive for breakfast and Barnethei welcomes the Drakes entering the Haven.
Twelve days later the Haven finally arrive at the New Lands to the excitement of all, full of supplies for the creation of a new inn or settlement. Most of the Adventurers there are ready to set out later in the day, but Larracel detects the decreasing ambient mana levels in the area and notifies them. An hour later when looking for a good spot they enter an area of no mana; the Haven staff gets ready with their wands as Larracel tries to maneuver the Haven northward only to find that the area is a mana-negative zone. After six days of searching across the outskirts of the New Lands, they come to find out that the entirety of it is mana-negative, a trap for [Mages] and their magics.
Most of the Adventurers have left already by the end of their search for safe passage into the New Lands, Larracel finds a solution for their mana problems within the Haven, but it puts a strain on Larracel leaving them with only six days within the New Lands before the Haven has to retreat. At first, he was shocked but then thinking about it, Barnethei can see the huge potential of opportunity in the mana-draining environment, Larracel pokes holes into his idea and shares the idea of creating a mana well to help with their problem. While Larracel designs a room to be the mana well, the rest of the Haven staff act like [Sailors] on their ship until they get attack by Dropbats. Fighting the monsters took a lot of their mana meaning that they've lost a day until they have to withdraw back, later on they celebrate and watch on the scrying orbs the Horns of Hammerad attacking the [Slavers] of Roshal which gives confirmation to Larracel that Colth is still alive after all. Barnethei moves over to the new board to look over the <Quests> that are posted one being <Rare Quest - Colthei, Call Larra!>, moments later Larracel receives a [Message] from the man himself ripping the quest off the board telling the staff all the gossip.
The Explorer's Haven, Barnethei's new inn, was premade beforehand and is placed right beside a hill near a river, Larracel informs him that it might be around two weeks before she might return and to stay vigilant as a building can be rebuilt but lives can't. Understanding but somewhat dismissive he says goodbye to Larracel, Barnethei and the Explorer's staff gets the inn ready for customers and celebrate its opening. At first, it was going well for Barnethei even with the salted lands and the nearby forest full of Dropbats and large Racoons that attack his inn.
Nerrhavia in the Unmarked Coach amusedly muses over Barnethei's story and antics in the New Lands and other reports from her emerging spy network. One unpleasant topic from the reports she's gather she titled the 'Palace of Fates Incident' and focuses on all the information she has to see what it could even be; she connects a few dots from what little she has but can no longer dig deeper with so little and returns back to Barnethei's story. Feeling like she's being made fun of, Nerrhavia has fulfilled one of her contracts to the horror of all there, suspicious yet accepting what the System is telling her, she knows that the Three-In-One is down three lives and chews over the woman's lack of subtlety. She asks Astival of his desires in a woman using that as a basis for punishment for a contract she just sent to the Three-In-One, unsure if she'll accept but it matters not since she has a plan.
Nerrhavia goes over her pieces while substandard to what she required are still useful as tools, she asks Astival his opinion to the New Lands to which she refutes. Looking over to Toren, she then asks Falamizural why she took an interest in the Undead with the Garuda saying that he has this 'character' that she values. Nerrhavia explains that for months Toren has had the ability to speak but hasn't deemed to utter a word as he finds them all unworthy except for the one moment when it was worthy of his voice. Picking up another report she reads into who the bones of the last important [Innkeeper] was.
Corregrione goes around Liscor speaking with many to gather information about the former [Innkeeper] of the First Wandering Inn building before Erin subsumed control of it, he learns little about the man other than he had a big personality and talented in many fields who learned quicker than others. Thanking the folks for their time, Corregrione heads towards the location of the ruins of the First Wandering Inn digging up a piece of the buried foundation of the building for whatever Nerrhavia wants it for.
Toren knows working for Nerrhavia is bad news but since he's not being ordered to do menial tasks or hear of a defeated man's woes it's sweet so far, he meets with the Underground Skeleton Lich he met before telling it of a sweet gig it has to offer and leads it to the Unmarked Carriage. Nerrhavia, who has authority over death, opens the door to the carriage and quickly takes ownership of the Lich and its undead, Toren then goes around to the other Undead it has met to bring over to the Tyrant's control. Hearing over Nerrhavia's words, Toren starts to feel bad for the Lich since it going to become cannon fodder, noticing this Nerrhavia shows him what it means to serve under her by commanding the carriage to turn back to the Skeleton Lich. She orders Astival to upgrade the Skeleton Lich into a Demius Warlock Bonelord to the befuddlement of Toren, she tells the [Relic Guardian] that what her servants value are also a part of her calculations, that now she needs three qualities to the army she needs to make war. She will test Maviola's capability and have the Undead child be instructed by Falamizural to be sharpened into a weapon to however the Garuda wants, Nerrhavia orders that Maviola think of a new name since they have importance and that her old name already has a story.
On their way to Manus, Toren has a dream of himself dying in the inn with realizing that he is just an echo of who the man was. Arriving near of Manus, Nerrhavia orders Karsaeu-Dequoa and Corregrione to locate a way inside the Walled City, coming back they bring the criminal leaders of several gangs to hear what Nerrhavia wants. Out of the whole group Nerrhavia persuades one of the higher leveled people there, Kalnis, to become her new bodyguard by using one of her skills. With Kalnis abandoning his city and leaving his gang behind he goes to gather his things, the group enters the city discussing what the Drake wished for, he returns and leads Nerrhavia to the person she wants to meet. Finding Rafaema alone in an alley, Nerrhavia tells her that all of her old contracts made eons ago are still in play to be used and offers to fix her damaged wing for her service. To prove a point to the Dragon-child that she would be the weakest out of all of her servants, she has Toren beat Rafaema in a fight, lost in his thoughts after winning Toren misses the deal made between Nerrhavia and Rafaema.
A day later the carriage arrives in the New Lands, there they reach a camp of ghosts that have set up a spell circle that will mass teleport all of them to Chandrar. Toren sees Rafaema is there as well trembling with a new color to her scales and pokes her until she bites him away, meanwhile Nerrhavia is having the ghosts prepare a ritual circle for Toren to use the soul of the former [Innkeeper] in some manner and takes the Dragon-child to her tent for further instructions. Toren wants to talk with the Tyrant but as she's busy he goes on to meet with the other less useful ghost servants such Majori and Wetar, who seem more capable than the plain disregard Nerrhavia has for them seems to warrant. He dwells on the similarities and differences between how Nerrhavia and Erin make others do things like cry, feeling the pain and weeping from the Healing Slime, he enters Nerrhavia's tent unsure if he can even quit this gig.
Having Toren stand beside her, Nerrhavia begins to share her short-term plan of creating a nation to further enact her goals to the two others inside the tent. Toren makes a few snide remarks about the way Nerrhavia is doing things to the Tyrant's annoyance, Nerrhavia starts to chastise Rafaema for her misguided beliefs of her desires and plans to show her the truth. Nerrhavia was about reprimand the Skeleton for another remark but she is suddenly slapped and then punched by Toren notifying her of his leave under her servitude. Nerrhavia's servants begin to attack Toren, with his relics Toren is able to fend off against the many foes with the cost growing as the fight continues, Nerrhavia herself begins to laugh as memories of Merindue's rebellion comes to her mind. After his relics were ripped off of him, Toren is presented to Nerrhavia to declare his fate with Maviola begging for leniency, Toren enters into a hazy state feeling like the Tyrant before him was receding. To the shock of all the Healing Slime managed to grab Toren skull and some of his bones and runs away, Karsaeu and Falamizural chases after but purposely lets them get away.
Nerrhavia knows that the two let Toren get away letting them have their little victory, assuming the Skeleton survives she deems him of little consequence. As Toren tries to piece himself together, he gets a system notification of the loss of his [Relic Guardian] Class and related skills knowing that he has messed up with their cushy job. To the surprise of Toren, the Healing Slime shares feelings of pride for its friend for doing the right thing. As two head further into the New Lands, Toren hears another notification from the System giving him two titles and reputation. Yisame send someone put to analyze why everyone in Nerrhavia's Fallen was beaming as she meets with the Horns of Hammerad.
